Not as deep or involved study of Bowie as I was searching for. It has the feel of a "long" short story that has been written on one of several Alamo heroes.

It was an excellent book fast and exciting with plenty of action a strong story line interesting to the end.

When this was purchased it was thought to be a historical about Jim Bowie. It is a good children's book but not what we were expecting from the description. The story is lite and easy to read. Children would be delighted at the story being told from the pet's perspective. For children excellent choice. But for historical purpose's it lack some history background.
